by Audra H. Anders for The Aha! Connection
Now that quarantine is over, my neighborhood book club is back! I’m also an empty-nester with more time to read/attend so I’m excited to be starting back reading with my neighbors. In case you are looking for something to read, I thought I’d share with you the Meadowlake Book Club books of the month for February and March. Review them all and see the bottom of this post to learn how you could win a copy of the one that interests you the most!
Meadowlake’s February Book
The Heart’s Invisible Furies: A Novel
I read this a while ago and am looking so forward to our meeting tomorrow night to refresh my memory on this awesome book.
Amazon’s Description: Named Book of the Month Club’s Book of the Year 2017 | Selected one of New York Times Readers’ Favorite Books of 2017 | Winner of the 2018 Goldsboro Books Glass Bell Award | From the beloved New York Times bestselling author of The Boy In the Striped Pajamas, a sweeping, heartfelt saga about the course of one man’s life, beginning and ending in post-war Ireland
Meadowlake’s March Book
Remarkably Bright Creatures by Shelby Van Pelt
I’m reading this one now on my Kindle and find it fascinating.
Amazon’s Description: A Read With Jenna Today Show Book Club Pick! “Remarkably Bright Creatures is a beautiful examination of how loneliness can be transformed, cracked open, with the slightest touch from another living thing.” — Kevin Wilson, author of Nothing to See Here
The book I just finished
Also, I read When Crickets Cry by Charles Martin while in Phoenix last week and LOVED it. Such a sweet story with a twist. It’s set mostly in the Lake Burton area but also at St. Joe’s hospital in Atlanta.
Amazon’s Description: From the bestselling author of The Mountain Between Us comes the moving story of a man with a painful past, a little girl with a doubtful future, and a shared journey toward healing for both of their hearts.
The book I’m listening to on Audible
I am currently listening to A Little Life by Hanya Yanagihara on Audible as I’m trying to walk and listen and add more walking steps to my days. It’s a LONG book so I have 32 more hours of walking to do before I finish.
Amazon’s Description: NATIONAL BESTSELLER • A stunning “portrait of the enduring grace of friendship” (NPR) about the families we are born into, and those that we make for ourselves. A masterful depiction of love in the twenty-first century.
NATIONAL BOOK AWARD FINALIST • MAN BOOKER PRIZE FINALIST • WINNER OF THE KIRKUS PRIZE
Leave a comment with which one of these books you’d like to win and we’ll order a copy and send directly to the home of the randomly chosen winner!
