The Wildcats at the Dekalb County Track and Field Varsity Championship Meet

2023 Napoleon B. Cobb DeKalb County Track & Field Championships

The Napoleon B. Cobb Dekalb County Varsity Track & Field Championships started on Saturday, March 25th  with our Dunwoody Wildcats making a HUGE STATEMENT at the Buck Godfrey Stadium! THE WILDCATS ARE HERE!!

The Field Events started off strong as:

Mary McLoughlin won the pole vault and landed in Georgia Top 50. Chloe Warren added points by placing 4th, followed closely by her teammate Millie Horwitz who placed 6th.

The Pole Vault PR’s were amazing as the Boys Pole Vault squad soared into great point positions.  Chris Ennis placed 3rd,  Brandon Keefe placed 5th and Brayon Lopez placed 6th.

Anderson Bowe threw Huge PR’s winning the discus and shot put competitions. Bowe successfully defended her discus title from last year. This meet’s performance placed her in the Top 10 and Top 25 in Georgia

Freshmen Kaz McLaughin threw in her very first Championship meet and did not disappoint. She placed 6th in shot put and PR’d iin discus for an 8th place finish. Michaella  Ahenfo PR’d in the shot put and discus also.

Luke Cole placed 6th in a very tough shotput competition with a HUGE PR. He was cheered on by his fellow shot putters Jake Sagel and Aaron Laffoon.

Laffoon placed 9th in the discus, followed by a 10th place tie with teammates Jake Sagel and Jordan Wade.

Girls High Jump Trinity Williams placed 8th. Bren Weterrings also competed in a very tough showing. Imani Cooper had a new Personal Best

In the Boys High Jump Malachi Crenshaw placed 3rd with a PR. Brandon Keefe PR’d in the High Jump.

 Trinity Williams won the Long Jump. This puts her in the top 25 in Georgia. Hannah Bischoff and Emma Lovell leaped into a personal best.

Ahmad Saidy and Addison Hixon also Long Jumped in a very tough competition. Hixon also jumped in the Triple Jump.

The 4X800 squad of Emma Parker, Chloe Warren, Bobby Allen and Bren Weterrings placed 4th in a very heated race.

The Boys 4X800 squad of Oliver Abbott, Xavier Pasquier, Mark Westrick and Jude Wright placed 11th

The Boys 4X200 Squad of Julian Madison, Ahmad Saidy, Jayden Santil and Nehemiah Price qualified for the Finals on Monday. The Boys 4X100 team of Malachi Cranshaw, Ahmad Saidy, Blake Williams and Jordan Wade also qualified for Monday’s final. The Boys 4X400 Relay Team of Addison Hixon, Chris Ennis, Jayden Saintil and Ahmad Saidy qualified for the finals as well.

Mark Westrick placed 6th in the 1600. Teammates Oliver Abbott and Jude Wright PR’d in the 1600 m race. 

Hannah Bischoff PR’d in the 100 m hurdles coming in 10th. Hannah Bryman placed 15th in the 100m hurdles and she also ran in the 100 m sprints

Blake Williams will be moving on to Monday’s 110M Hurdles as well as the 100m sprints.

Jordan Wade PR’d in the 100 M sprints. Julian Maddison also ran the 100m sprints.

Bren Weterrings qualified in a very fast paced 400M race. She will run again on Monday. Emma Lovell PR’d in this race.

Jayden Santil ran a very fast race. He PR’d and qualified for the Boys 400M finals on Monday. Chris Ennis and Addison Hixon also ran very well in quick heats. 

Hannah Bischofff PR’d in the 300 m hurdles. Imani Cooper also ran swiftly in this race.

Blake Williams qualified for the 300 M hurdles finals. Malachi Cranshaw and Brandon Keefe also ran quickly during the 300m hurdles.

Both Emma Parker and Bobbi Allen qualified for the 800 m finals on Monday. Mark Westrick ran in the Boys 800m race.

Both of the Boys 200 m runners PR’d; Julian Madison and Ahmad Saidy.

Emma Parker placed 7th in the swift 3200m race.

The Lady Wildcats are going into Monday Finals in first place . The Boys are tied for fourth with Chamblee with a lot of opportunities to score. Good luck to our Running, Jumping and Throwing Wildcats. We Believe!!
