by Audra H Anders for The Aha! Connection
I have food allergies and it stinks. I aged into these allergies so thankfully never had to pilfer through baskets on Halloween for gluten free candy as a child. However, I can certainly sympathize with kiddos who have food allergies. Therefore, at my house we offer non-edible treats PLUS the regular amazing candy treats! I encourage you to do the same.
The Teal Pumpkin Project is a movement to raise awareness of food allergies and to create a safer, more inclusive Halloween for all trick or treaters on Halloween. By putting a teal pumpkin on your doorstep, you let kids know that your house is food allergy-friendly.
This interactive map allows people participating in FARE’s Teal Pumpkin Project® to add their home address or street to this map. Adding your household to the map allows you to connect with other homes in your area that are participating.
