For the month of November, the theme for Dunwoody High School’s Book Club was historical fiction. So we chose to read Sarah’s Key by Tatiana de Rosnay. This book follows the interconnected stories of the two main characters, one in France during WW1, and the other story set in modern day Paris. This books focuses on the horrors experienced by the Jews during the Holocaust and also gives the reader a taste of French culture and history as they follow the stories of Sarah, a Jewish girl in 1942, and Julia, a reporter in modern day France. Sarah’s Key is amazingly crafted and a heartbreaking story that brings history to life and proves that what happened in the past is something to be remembered. Our club rated this book 5 stars out of 5 for it’s incredible characters and it’s ability to draw you into the lives of two very different characters, and still feel completely connected to both. I strongly recommend this book for anyone who loves history or just a good book. Thanks for reading!
