The City of Dunwoody is completing major utility tie-ins for the Mt. Vernon Road and Vermack Intersection project. As such they have scheduled a road closure beginning at approximately 8:30 AM on Friday morning, March 1st. Please plan to take alternate routes during this time.
1) The north end of Vermack Road (between Dunwoody Square and MVR) will be blocked during this 72-hour period
2) The south end of Manhasset (from MVR to the St. Luke’s rear parking entrance) will be blocked during this 72-hour period
3) Detour signage will be in place to re-direct traffic.
Weather permitting, normal traffic will resume on Sunday evening, March 3rd.
Last week, DeKalb Watershed Management (DWM) oversaw the tie-in of the new 16-inch water main at Corners Drive and Vernon Oaks Drive. Weather permitting, the contractor has scheduled the temporary road closures of Vermack Road (between Mt. Vernon Road and Dunwoody Square) and Manhasset Road (from the church parking lot to MVR) beginning NEXT Friday morning (3/1) around 8:30 AM. Work is scheduled to be completed no later than Sunday, March 3rd. Isolated water outages are likewise planned for Saturday, March 2nd as tie-ins occur on Vermack Road.
NOTE: Only those residents who receive written notices (by February 27) will be affected. Detour signage will be installed to direct motorists while the road closure is in place.
