Teachers will be the first to tell you that they don’t expect gifts, but I know enough teachers to know they have a lot of tumblers, candles and stationary. Let’s be honest, they are pretty much saints on earth, molding the minds of our children and doing it without day-drinking. Here is a list of items to spark your creative gift giving spirit.
Cash or Gift Cards
Listen, teachers are people too. I know some may think it’s gauche to give monetary gifts, but have you ever opened a card full of cash and been disappointed? No. A heartfelt note and the option to buy gas or school supplies or whatever they want exceeds social decorum. That being said, if you buy a gift, put some thought into it.
Lanyard
Teachers nowadays have all kinds of stuff; keys to classrooms and closets; badges to offices and corridors. Give them something to look forward to putting on.
Pencil Socks
Teachers don’t want you buying clothes for them or assuming their personal style. They probably have a life outside of school. BUT My kids have had teachers that like fun socks or wear crazy ties. Lord knows with all those red ribbon weeks, they have to keep up too.
Fun facts they can use in class, or make them laugh.
One of my daughters had a teacher with a word of the date calendar and the kids would love to race over and be the person that taught the word.

Now I Know: The Revealing Stories Behind the World’s Most Interesting Facts
Pens and Supplies
Teachers have basic school supplies readily available for the most part, but who doesn’t love FUN supplies?! I’ve been told these are the BEST pens, but who knows. Teachers also like stickers, sticky notes, you know, stuff to spruce up grading the same terrible papers.
Face Masks
These face masks are so gorgeous and honestly, it’s something most teachers won’t splurge on themselves. A nice “treat yo self” gift for the teacher you know needs it.
Cameron McIntosh Earrings
Assuming your teacher is a woman, Cameron McIntosh has stylish, affordable jewelry, particularly earrings. She is a local, Dunwoody gem (pun intended) and her stuff is sure to be loved by all.
Ornament
Everyone loves ornaments. Plan ahead and get a personalized one.
Pressa bottle
Teachers talk a lot and need to stay hydrated. I received this water bottle for my birthday and it is AWESOME! It’s not like a regular infuser bottle, it has a little press in it that pushes the fruits and vegetables for the most flavor and vitamins. You can see the infusing and the combinations are endless. Lime/berries; lime ginger; pineapple jalapeno; lemon berry; cucumber lime. I could go on bubba blue style here.
Reusable tote
I love a tote. This is a cute camo one that would be supes adorable with a bright monogram. He or she can keep it in their room to haul home extra stuff, like folders or tumblers and candles.
