DeKalb County intends to place two questions on the ballot November 8, 2016 for residents to vote on via a referendum:
(1) To adopt a 1% Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax (SPLOST) that would fund transportation and capital projects.
(2) To reform the existing Homestead Option Sales Tax (HOST) to create an Equalized HOST (E-HOST) that would provide additional property tax relief to homeowners.
Both measures must be approved for either to be enacted. If approved, SPLOST revenue would be dedicated to capital improvement projects such as transportation improvements, road resurfacing, library renovations, new or expanded parks, or other County or City assets.
