Kitchenware retailer Sur La Table is closing its store at Perimeter Mall in Dunwoody. The store, located on the mall’s second level between Macy’s and Banana Republic, is due to close July 27 and is currently offering 40% off all in-stock merchandise. The Seattle-based retailer continues to operate stores at Phipps Plaza in Buckhead and North Point Mall in Alpharetta. It’s unclear exactly why the store at Perimeter is closing, but its closure has precipitated the rumor mill of a potential return of rival retailer Williams-Sonoma to the popular Dunwoody mall. Williams-Sonoma, which sells similar goods and gadgets, closed at Perimeter mall more than a dozen years ago. Williams-Sonoma also previously closed locations at Phipps Plaza (now Sur La Table), Gwinnett Place Mall and North Point Mall, but Perimeter is the strongest and most likely of
the four to see the retailer’s return.
