Excerpt from an email to Nancy Jester subscribers:
As we approach the end of 2013, I want to share my gratitude for your support and encouragement. We are getting closer to transforming education in Georgia to benefit children, families, taxpayers and teachers throughout our state. I need your help to keep our momentum going.
As Senator Josh McKoon said at my kickoff fundraiser earlier this month, the first opportunity the pundits will have to assess our campaign’s effectiveness will come with the end-of-year campaign contribution disclosures. Showing that we will have the resources to get our message out to the voters we need to reach will show our campaign’s viability. That’s why we’re asking you to make a donation online today – your generous gift of $250, $100, or even $20 will help us prepare for an effective campaign and show that we mean business.
The State School Superintendent is responsible for nearly half the state’s yearly budget – about $8 billion dollars. More importantly, it will effect the opportunities our children have and the economy they will inherit from us.
Your investment today in our campaign – as little as $20 will help – will give you a voice in how our tax dollars are spent and help improve our schools. Together we can focus on improving the classroom experience while minimizing the costly tangle of bureaucracy.
Thank you for your support and help!
