Sprouts coming to Dunwoody (in the old Ace Hardware location)?

A couple of my friends who own businesses in the shopping center with the old Ace Hardware have mentioned to me that Sprouts is coming soon!  I haven’t heard any official confirmation of this and don’t know any dates.   The former Ace Hardware space was originally leased by Harris-Teeter.   HT was bought by Kroger and eventually closed.  Kroger has been paying the rent and controlling this long term lease but from what I understand that lease has come to an end and we may be getting Sprouts

sproutsShare your comments…what do you know about Sprouts?   Is this good news to you?  Do you know any details?

  1. Whohoo!!!!!! Audra, thanks for the GREAT news! I’ve never heard of Sprouts, but as a homeowner that has a view of the empty shopping lot, I am thrilled to welcome them to the neighborhood.

  2. After looking at their website, I so hope they come in to the Ace Hardware space. I think it will be a plus for the area. We should all encourage a business like this.

  3. There is a Sprouts when we lived in Dallas. Great produce, any kind of nut you could imagine, organic. Great produce prices. Definitely a go grocery.

  4. I would love to see a farmers market type place come to our community. With everyone trying to eat healthy, it will be nice to get fresh produce. Hopefully we will be able to use credit cards instead of cash like the Dekalb farmers market. I’m excited.

  5. I really hope this news is true…would love to see that space occupied again. I wonder how this will impact the Dunwoody Green Market though.

  6. My parents love it in Tucson! Would be so great to have something there. I had been thinking of buying that spot for an indoor soccer/lacrosse venue!

  7. Wow! Just checked out the website! They’re only out west now. Looks like some competition for Trader Joes, Whole Foods, and the various Farmers Markets in Atlanta!

  8. I love Sprouts! I have shopped there in Denver and Salt Lake City and its great we’ll have them so close!!! happy, happy

  9. Awesome news! We had Sprouts when we lived in California – it’s great! Good prices, great selection, good quality.

  10. We really need a Trader Joe’s here. They are too spread out in Atlanta. Sprouts is better than an empty building but I was really hoping for a Trader Joe’s – even going so far as calling the corporate office and trying to suggest this site. They said their focus was on expanding to markets with no Trader Joe’s presence right now. I am not sure about this strategy (get it absolutely right in the cities you have already expanded too first?) but regardless we could use one here because the others are too far. We also fit the typical TD demographic for income, education level, etc. Sprouts is ok again better than nothing but we had both in California and Sprouts just didn’t do it for me. Huge improvement over current situation though.

  11. I’m glad a farmer’s market is coming to my side of Dunwoody. I wonder if it will cause a problem for Nell’s corner stand when she returns this spring. Sprout’s must be a really large market to be taking over the Ace Hardware space.

  12. I am with Greg about hoping for a Trader Joe’s, but I’ll take Sprouts. It’s better than an empty eyesore. That empty space creeps me out everytime I walk by it. I love Nell’s and speaking personally will still get my summer tomato fix there. I think she has a pretty solid following who’ll stick with her. Besides, her stand is quicker to get in and out of – 5 minutes and I’m done 🙂
