Update: Soon to be homeless mother and daughter-ways you can help!

I wanted to end the week on an extremely positive note.

Jessica told me that they received enough money and have “made the rent” for our friend in need!  Thanks to everyone who has offered any type of support whether it be prayers, jobs, or $ or whatever.

There is an extremely grateful family of three women that are truly blessed with a roof over their heads thanks to wonderful friends in our fabulous little city of Dunwoody, Georgia.

Update with needs for single mom and high school daughter

Dunwoody friends,

I’m overwhelmed with the responses from the email last week requesting help and ideas for my friend and her daughters.  Guest rooms, outreach program ideas, financial counseling, money and babysitting jobs were offered.  Her despair has turned to hope.  Thank you all!


Here is the update:

  • It will be best for her to stay where she is now due first to stability, location to bus line, Dunwoody high school and the current jobs.
  • The high school daughter just got a part-time job!
  • The daughter in college is taking time off to work this semester to help the family.

Here are ways you can help:

  • Contribute money to go towards supplementing her rent for the next 6 months.  We want to try to cover all of September’s rent ($ 790.00) by the end of this week.
  • Hire the mom for babysitting.  She even does overnight babysitting and has great references.  ($ 175.00 for 24 hours).
  • Hire the college aged daughter for clerical or phone work.
  • Donate a full or queen sized bed (box frame and mattress).

This dear family is strong and motivated to get over the hump and work to improve their situation. We have an opportunity to make a difference in their lives and in the future of the daughters.

Our first goal is September 1st for the full rent.  For immediate donations, please give to me or to Linda Pozzobon.  I’m happy to pick up from your house- cash or check (made out to Jessica) is great until we get an official fund set up.
