In the past the Dunwoody High School (DHS) PTSO has given two $1000 scholarships to seniors who are good students, involved in the community or hold a job and involved in school. You must have a 3.0 GPA to apply. This year they are adding two more $1000 scholarships targeted to seniors who are involved in community service and school, but without the minimum GPA requirement. Applications are on the DHS website and paper apps are in the counseling office.

HEY OUTSTANDING DHS SENIORS!!!!!
The PTSO is sponsoring TWO different awards this year!
The Outstanding Senior Award is a continuing award from prior years, but the Outstanding Citizenship Senior Award is NEW this year!
Both awards are open to graduating seniors only, and applicants will need to choose just one award for which to apply. Applications are available now on the DHS website and paper copies are offered in the counseling office if needed.
Outstanding Citizenship Senior Award:
Two winners of $1000 each
This award is NEW this year!
– PTSO membership required
– No minimum GPA
– Projected graduation at the end of the current school year
– Participation in at least one school activity (eg. clubs, sports, ROTC, etc)
– Contributions to school, community and family
– One page essay detailing your citizenship contributions
– One letter of support clearly stating citizenship contributions
– One teacher letter of recommendation prior to the interview in March
This application is available in a Word format for you to download, complete, and turn into the DHS Counseling Office by the due date.
Outstanding Senior Award:
Two winners of $1000 each
– PTSO membership required
– GPA of 3.0 or higher
– Participation in school activities, community service, work experience
– Demonstrate leadership experience and leadership potential
– Share honors and recognitions received
– Two page essay on the most pressing societal problem today
– Finalists will provide a teacher letter of recommendation prior to interview in February
