The holiday is a great time to get together with family and friends!
It’s become a much-anticipated tradition, and on Sunday, July 3, 2016, the Sandy Springs community will gather once again at the Concourse Corporate Center lawn to celebrate the nation’s birthday as part of the City’s Stars and Stripes Celebration. The community is invited to pack a picnic and enjoy the afternoon and evening on the lawn, with fireworks beginning at 9:45 p.m.
“The event is a highlight of the summer, drawing together the community in what has become one of our largest city gatherings. It is a family-friendly and entertaining event for all ages,” said Sandy Springs Mayor Rusty Paul.
Music from the band, Shiloh, will begin at 7:30 p.m.; thereafter, fireworks will dazzle the skies beginning at 9:45 p.m. The official viewing area will be located on the lawn at the Concourse Corporate Center, located at Five Concourse Parkway. Complimentary parking will be available in Concourse Parking Decks Five and Six with parking for handicapped guests in Parking Deck Four. Parking at the Concourse will officially open at 6:30 p.m., and there is no admission fee.
Residents are encouraged to pack a snack and bring soft-sided balls, Frisbees and other kid and crowd-friendly toys. Pets, tents, outdoor cooking and personal-use sparklers are not permitted in the Concourse area. Drones are not permitted in the Concourse and fireworks areas.
The Sandy Springs Stars and Stripes Celebration is sponsored in part by Concourse Corporate Center (Regent Partners) and the City of Sandy Springs.
