Sabra Dipping Co. LLC issued a recall on 30,000 cases of its Classic Hummus with May 11 and May 15 expiration dates due to possible contamination with listeria.

The potential for contamination was discovered when a routine, random sample collected at a retail location on March 30 by the Michigan Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, tested positive for Listeria monocytogenes.

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration said it has not received any reports of the product causing illnesses. Symptoms of listeria infection include fever and muscle aches, sometimes preceded by diarrhea or other gastrointestinal symptoms, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
