An easy breezy recipe using ingredients most people already have in the pantry!
Sloppy Joes
- 2 lbs. lean ground beef
- ½ C. chopped onion
- 1 C. chopped celery
- 1 can condensed tomato soup
- ¼ C. ketchup
- 1 TBS. white vinegar
- ¼ C. packed brown sugar
- 1 ½ tsp. Worcestershire sauce
- ½ tsp. salt
- ¼. Tsp. garlic powder
- 8 buns (I use sandwich thins)
Place ground beef in a large skillet over medium heat. Cook until evenly browned and crumbled. Add onion and celery, cover and cook until tender and transparent, about 5 minutes. Drain grease.
Stir in the tomato soup (undiluted), ketchup, vinegar, brown sugar and Worcestershire sauce. Season with salt and garlic powder. Heat to a simmer over low heat and cook until thoroughly heated, stirring frequently to prevent burning on the bottom.
