PALS Spring Session Begins April 4

PALS (Perimeter Adult Learning & Services) continues its 25th year of presenting stimulating educational classes for senior adults. Thousands of participants have benefitted from this learning experience over the years. The Spring 2015 session, which is being held at the Dunwoody United Methodist Church, begins on Monday, April 4, 2016 and runs every Monday for 8 weeks through May 23, 2016. The classes are offered in three time slots, 10:00-11:00, 11:15-12:15, and 1:15-2:45. The cost is $45 for the entire session or $8 for a single day. Lunches can be purchased for $8 with advance reservations or can be brought from home. Classes for this Spring session include: The Indian Tribes of the Great Plains, Understanding the Dunwoody Real Estate Market, Personal Finance, Early American Presidents, Art of the Middle Ages and Election 2016. This is just a sampling of the classes that are geared toward senior adults who are interested in learning and enriching their lives. Past classes, many of which are repeated every few years because of their popularity, have included home repairs, gardening, area museums, biographies of famous people such as Winston Churchill and J. Edgar Hoover, music and art appreciation, religion, travelogues and the Civil War. The PALS Program Committee welcomes input from participants about other topics of interest and future speakers. PALS was formed in 1991 and is supported by local religious institutions as well as local non-profits and local merchants. Sessions are hosted 4 times a year for 8 weeks (6 weeks in the summer) at either the Dunwoody Baptist Church or the Dunwoody United Methodist Church. All speakers are retired professionals who speak on their area of expertise, with many having a strong following from year to year.
