OVER 30,000 PRESCHOOLERS TAKE A TRIP AROUND THE WORLD IN JUST ONE DAY

Primrose School of Dunwoody students will celebrate cultures through music

What:   Dressed in traditional attire and toting Greek shields, sombreros and cultural instruments, more than 100 Primrose preschoolers from the Dunwoody area will join 30,000 children across the country in celebrating their unique cultures on Friday, September 30. The children will participate in a cultural parade, enjoy ethnic food and join hands to sing “It’s a Small World” and “This Land is Your Land.”
Franchise Owner Cami Nail says there’s no better way to learn about different cultures than through music. A new survey commissioned by Primrose Schools reveals that 24 percent of families say music is an important part of their cultural heritage, and 45 percent believe music can play an important role in promoting cultural understanding.
“Music is perhaps the easiest way for a child to relate to and understand differences. Children who have an appreciation for other cultures and traditions at an early age develop into caring, generous adults who love their community and respect others,” says Nail.
Primrose’s new music program, Rhythm and Notes® with The Music Class®, features a diverse collection of music from around the world that helps children understand cultural differences. Celebrating cultures is part of Primrose Schools’ Balanced Learning® Curriculum, which includes character-building components that encourage a lifelong acceptance and compassion for others.
