School’s back in session so you may find some time to grab lunch with a friend. These are some of my local favorites:
It’s no secret that I love Ivy Tea House. Yes, it is adorable with it’s shabby chic interior and mix n’ match china. Yes, it’s down the street from Carolee’s adorable boutique and other fun shops. Yes, the food is absolutely awesome. The Ivy Tea House is such a fun, delicious afternoon with friends. Reservations are suggested because they make everything from scratch. I typically order the Ivy Tea with is a choice of tea, with classic cream puffs, fresh fruit, lemon squares, and the daily scone with jam, lemon curd, ivy cream, and choice of three savories: choose from cucumber sandwich, pimiento cheese phyllo cup, egg salad, tarragon chicken salad profiterole, avocado toast, ham and brie sandwich, or smoked salmon toast. It’s all good and the scones with lemon curd and cream and dreamy.

It’s no secret that Roswell is under construction, but Fellows Cafe is worth the gravel in your flip flop. It is perfect for a ladies lunch or brunch and is so tasty. Everything I’ve had from Fellows has been a hit. My go-to is the salmon toast with smoked salmon, pickled red onion, lemon, capers, and dill aioli. I also love the avocado toast with mashed avocado, sea salt, radish, lemon, chili flake and the fumbally toast, two cheesy scrambled eggs, chopped Spanish chorizo, tomatoes and avocado. If you bring your appetite, make sure you order the Fellow Board: Soft boiled egg, soppressata, duck prosciutto, cheese curd, concord tomme, dried figs & apricots, fresh seasonal fruit, nut butter, seasonal jam, and rustic sourdough soldiers. Fellows also has a full coffee and a full bar, bar. Give the Fellows Spritz a try (lemongrass pink peppercorn vodka, cappelletti, prosecco).

If you like fried, anything, head to Tupelo Honey Cafe in Sandy Springs, on the way to Buckhead. You name it, Tupelo can fry it. Okra, pickles, mac and cheese are all on the starter menu. Other delicious options are the pimento and fried pickle burger, the chicken press with smoked jalapeño bbq sauce, sliced apples, white cheddar cheese, garlic buttermilk ranch, served on griddled flatbread. They also offer a $10 weekday lunch combo with 1/2 Sandwich and cup of tomato soup

When you want something fancier that requires a valet, try Bilboquet in Buckhead; It’s white tablecloth with classic French cuisine. Set your sights on the La Saladed’Asperges of jumbo asparagus, baby gem and frisée lettuce, a poached egg and bacon. Other delicacies include the Le Poulpe, crispy octopus, Les Escargots de Bourgogne or a traditional Le Croque Monsieur ou Madame.

If you aren’t trying to go far, meet at Crema. I LOVE the quiche at Crema; bacon; turkey and spinach; goat cheese with caramelized onion; all good. Not to mention salads, sandwiches, classic pastries and desserts. Once it cools down a bit, it’s a great place to sit outside with friends.
