Lunch (well, Dinner) and Learn at Agave Bandido

by Audra H. Anders for The Aha! Connection

My parents came to visit me earlier this week because my Mom loves to accompany me to the Dunwoody Home Tour whenever she can.  Hubby and I decided this would be the perfect opportunity to take my parents out to dinner and to check out High Street for the first time.

Mexican food is my absolute fave so we chose Agave Bandido as our dinner destination.  From the welcoming smiles at the hostess stand to the friendly and knowledgeable wait staff we could hardly wait to sit down and peruse the menu.  We started with drinks….then Chips & Salsa….then a Flight of Guacamole…..omg, a flight of guacamole…pure heaven.  The Chipotle Queso was yummy and smokey and there was not even a smidge left when we were done with it!  We were full from our plethora of apps but all ordered dinner and stuffed ourselves.

Our lovely waitress (Makayla) is here from Florida to train the Atlanta staff.  It is evident that she loves her job.  She excitedly introduced me to the artist responsible for all of the amazing murals and artwork throughout the restaurant.  My mom is also an artist so she loved getting to chat with Ruben Ubiera.  Makayla then surprised us by taking us through a secret door and up the stairs to a magnificent tiki bar/speakeasy that is set to open this weekend!

Fun facts:

  • Every Tuesday is Taco Tuesday where you can participate in all you can eat tacos for $20!
