The Le Méridien Atlanta Perimeter was formerly the Atlanta Perimeter Hotel & Suites, but it got a new brand and $20 million renovation after it was bought last year.
“This was a property in need of renovation,” said Paul Wischermann, president of Wischermann Partners Inc., the company that is managing the property for owner Rockbridge Capital LLC. Rockbridge bought the hotel last March for $15.5 million from Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide Inc.
“We felt Perimeter had an upper upscale potential that is being served mainly by Buckhead hotels,” Wischermann said. “Demand is very strong already.”
Le Méridien is a brand from Starwood. It draws upon the arts, culture and cuisine of Paris.
“We think Atlanta is a great market,” said Brian Povinelli, global brand leader of Le Méridien and Westin for Starwood. “We’re thrilled to bring this to the area.”
The 275-room hotel has 150 suites and caters to the business traveler. The Perimeter area is one of metro Atlanta’s fastest rebounding office markets.
Among its features, there is a central hub for socializing and working in the lobby, and there are club lounges on the top two floors of the 12-story hotel.
Peter Dunn is the hotel’s general manager. Dunn previously worked at the property when it was called The Marque back in the 1990s.
“It was like coming home,” Dunn said about his new position.
