Important News regarding the 2019 Dunwoody High Graduation Date & other Senior Events

Dunwoody High Graduation for the Class of 2019 will be on May 29, 2019 at 1:00 PM at the Georgia World Congress Center. 

We realize this late date is problematic for some, however despite various organized efforts from DHS Faculty, Staff, Students and Parents to move graduation to an earlier date and/or alternate location, Superintendent Green made the final decision last week.  The date and location will not be changed.

Thank you to everyone who signed the petition, attended the school board meeting, and/or personally met with Dr. Green regarding this issue.  

Please note:  Dunwoody High School has several PTSO committees working diligently to ensure the Class of 2019 will have many opportunities to celebrate and enjoy their graduation season.   In fact, we are planning several surprises and new events that should make the class of 2019 graduation time more spectacular than ever!

Following is a list of several events that our Seniors can look forward to in May (specific dates/times are forthcoming):

  • Honors Day Ceremony
  • Senior Week full of food, fun and surprises
  • A group trip to see the Atlanta United play at Mercedes Benz Stadium
  • Graduation Practice/Senior Celebration Event
  • An overnight lock-in with prizes, games, and fun AKA “Senior’s Last Blast”
  • A brand-new, very distinct “Senior Reflections” ceremony is also in the works and we couldn’t be more excited about the agenda we have planned for this meaningful observance for the Class of 2019!

We will provide everyone with more details about these special events after the holiday break.  Meanwhile, if your graduate is unable to attend graduation on 5/29 please take the time TODAY to email Ana Bilbao (Ana_Bilbao-Granadillo@dekalbschoolsga.org) , the Senior Class Sponsor, and let her know.
