Holy Innocents’ Senior Wins DAR Award

DAR-award-BlakeBlake Barber, a senior at Holy Innocents’ Episcopal School, has been named a DAR Good Citizen by the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution, Fort Peachtree Chapter.

Blake, the son of Lisa Romine and Jay Barber, was recognized for exemplifying the qualities of “dependability, service, leadership, and patriotism in their homes, schools and communities,” said a DAR release.
His name will now be entered into the DAR Good Citizens Scholarship Contest for a chance to become the national winner, which includes a $5,000 scholarship, an inscribed silver bowl, and an invitation to the DAR Continental Congress in Washington, D.C.

Blake has been part of Youth Leadership Sandy Springs, varsity wrestling, cross-country and track and field at HIES, as well as the Sky Patriots leadership program. He hopes to attend the U.S. Naval Academy.
