Holy Innocents’ Episcopal Receives $1-Million for Financial Aid

inglett-family-for-media-smallerHoly Innocents’ Episcopal School (HIES) has received a $1-million planned gift from former school trustee Ray Inglett Jr. These funds will be placed in the school’s endowment and go toward financial aid for students in need of assistance. The fund will be called The Inglett Family Financial Aid Fund.

Inglett served the school and Holy Innocents’ Episcopal Church in a number of leadership roles. He was co-chair of the school’s Executive Board from 1988-89, and served on the Board of Trustees from 1990-91 and again from 1995-96. Inglett was also a Facilities Development Committee Chair and was appointed to many committees, including ones for the Scholarship Foundation and Strategic Planning. He was also a Lifetime Donor to the school.

HIES Head of School Paul Barton described Inglett as an example of the kind of committed and dedicated leaders who have guided Holy Innocents’ for more than 50 years. “One of the hallmarks of Holy Innocents’ is our dedication to a diverse student body,” said Barton. “The incredible generosity of the Inglett gift will go a long way in helping our community to further this aspiration by making a Holy Innocents’ education more attainable for more students for generations to come.”

Inglett’s children, Susan, Laura, and Steve Inglett, all attended HIES, as well as grandchildren Madison Inglett, Natalie Inglett, Andrew Parrish, and Brian Parrish. Ray Inglett had been a parishioner and guiding light at Holy Innocents’ Episcopal School since 1959, and Inglett Hall is named in his honor at Holy Innocents’ Episcopal Church.

“I think of Ray’s name as synonymous with the highest ideals we strive to embody at Holy Innocents: dedication, hard work, ethical behavior, and moral conviction,” said the Rev. Michael Sullivan, rector of Holy Innocents’ Episcopal Church and a school trustee.
