Heritage Sandy Springs Announces the 2nd Annual Rhythm & Brews Event

Heritage Sandy Springs announced the return of Rhythm & Brews, to be held on Saturday, April 8, 2017 from 1:00 to 7:00 p.m. After three seasons of weeknight Rhythm and Brews concerts, Heritage Sandy Springs decided to bring all the talented musicians and craft brewers together on one day for a community celebration of local bands and local beers.

“Heritage Sandy Springs is thrilled to present Rhythm & Brews for the second year,” said Sarah Poland, Director of Marketing and Community Events at Heritage Sandy Springs. “After the success of our inaugural event, we are very excited to continue the tradition of shining a light on original artists whose music is deeply rooted in the South, while bringing exposure to area brewers. Rhythm & Brews not only celebrates the sips and sounds of the region, but also presents an opportunity for audiences, both young and young at heart, to kick back and relax in a beautiful outdoor setting.”

Rhythm & Brews will feature the following lineup:

Wrenn (1:15 pm – 2:00 pm)

Wrenn is the freshest new wellspring of color, fashion, and sound to come out of Athens, Georgia. Her song-craft has the polish and drama of a writer twenty years her senior and she’s armed with a voice that can be sultry, lilting, playful, or bold. A visual arts graduate of Georgia University, her immaculate sense for aesthetic is apparent in everything she does. In the tradition of the Athens music scene, her music can be B-52 quirky, Beatle melodic, yet fresh to the ear. Her performances, nothing less than a star-burst on stage, have attracted a larger and larger following of “Fireflies” (her term of endearment for her devoted and loyal fans). Wrenn continues to turn industry heads with her prolific writing, her visual command, and an overwhelmingly joyous presence. www.wrennpop.com

All the Locals (2:20 pm – 3:05 pm)

A culmination of raw talent and creativity, All The Locals saturate every addictive melody with smart, catchy lyrics that will stick with you well past the moment you press play. Performer Magazine coined the group as “Soul food for the funk-pop mind.” Giving Pink Floyd and Maxwell a run for their money, All The Locals are no strangers to the industry. Atlanta-based producer John Briglevich says, “… [their music is] hard to describe and that’s why I dig it.” www.facebook.com/allthelocalsmusic

Sailing to Denver (3:25 pm – 4:10 pm)

Sailing to Denver, an Atlanta-based band in their sixth year together, is set to release their third record titled Writing on the Wall in early 2017. This unique Americana act has spent the last few years developing an original sound and live show cultivated at local festivals. They can regularly be seen around town at many different venues and have been known to feature amazing special guest musicians from all over the Southeast. www.sailingtodenver.com

The Georgia Flood (4:30 pm – 5:30 pm)

Groove-heavy and genre-bending, The Georgia Flood’s music has evolved over the years. Their new album, People Like Ourselves, draws on indelible melodies, clever lyrics, and an infectious energy; weaving together an EP that hits all the right notes. The Atlanta based duo, Lane Kelly and Brooks Mason, are brothers who began playing when they were seven and nine years old respectively. Hustling birthday parties and family reunions, the brothers changed sounds numerous times through their teens. Drawing on their exploration of numerous genres, their songwriting channels classic guitar driving riffs with modern pop sensibilities. www.thegeorgiaflood.com

Larkin Poe (5:50 pm – 6:50 pm)

Larkin Poe is an Atlanta-based Roots Rock’n’Roll duo, comprised of sisters Rebecca and Megan Lovell. “As Georgia girls, we came up listening to and soaking in the source music of the South: the blues, country, Americana and mountain music; classic rock, and southern rock. That deep and gritty heritage has seeped into the bloodstream of our music,” explains Megan. “We’ve reached a point in our lives where we no longer care to be quite so polite, so “nice”, so perfectionistic. Now is the time to be raw, unapologetically overdriven Larkin Poe. Deep in our bones, we are rockers.” These sisters continue to create their own story; written their way; played and sung by them. www.larkinpoe.com
