Georgia Rides (their bikes) to the Capitol

  • Nearly 2,000 area cyclists ride to the Capitol to support bike safety

Ken Wright & Robert Wittenstein will be riding from Decatur, Doug Thompson, Bob Dallas will be riding from Dunwoody. Perimeter Transportation Coalition, REI, Fresh Market and Starbucks is sponsoring our start at the village on Tuesday morning.

Upon the cyclists arrival, Gov Deal is scheduled to speak on the steps of the Capitol to the nearly 2,000 bicyclists expected to participate. Lt Gov Cagle will be riding in from Decatur, where  even school kids ride to the Capitol! Rep Elena Parent is riding a short segment from downtown, Fran Millar will meet us at the capitol, and Tom Taylor should also be down there. Should make a great photo op!
