The recent winter weather event which brought heavy snows damaged the shade awnings at both the Brook Run Park playground and the Georgetown Park playground.
The city will reopen Brook Run Park playground today (12/21) except for the 2-5 year-old structures which remain closed. The playground at Georgetown Park will remain closed as the city continues to assess the damage and determine solutions to ensure the safety of the area and structures.
Families seeking outdoor playgrounds during the holiday break can visit the playgrounds at Dunwoody Nature Center and Windwood Hollow Park. For more information on these facilities please visit the city’s Parks and Recreation web page www.dunwoodyga.gov/parks.
