The All Fore One Golf tournament hosted at Dunwoody Country Club on October 2 is not your typical golf tournament.
While the event will mimic other first-class golf outings, it is the cause behind the tournament that is giving people a reason to pause and take notice.
All Fore One is a community event that is hosted by parent volunteers from Dunwoody’s eight cluster schools. Even though half the committee still has students in elementary school, they are committed to the future of strong Dunwoody middle and high schools.
“I was delighted when I realized the spirit of the volunteers that I’m working with,” Lauren Middlebrooks said. Lauren is co-chairing the golf tournament, even though she is years away from having children old enough to attend either Dunwoody High School or Peachtree Charter Middle School.
Because this is the first year the committee has hosted All Fore One, event organizers had to determine how to handle tournament profits for this event as well as future events.
“The generosity of these organizers demonstrates the long-range commitment Dunwoody parents have made to our middle and high school,” Middlebrooks said. “We were unanimous in committing future proceeds to support academic enrichment and capital improvements at Dunwoody High School or Peachtree Charter Middle School.”
On-line registration for All Fore One is currently open. The event website is www.allforeonedunwoody.org
