Foodie Patty and I made our way over to Decatur (en route to the DeKalb Farmer’s Market) yesterday for my first visit ever to Souper Jenny. I was delighted to find that every single one of their soups yesterday was gluten free! We both had the tomato basil with goat cheese and thought it was delicious. We shared an incredible broccoli slaw with cabbage, carrots, roasted sweet potato, dried cranberries, toasted cashews & lemon vinaigrette. The menu changes daily so I’ve just signed up for the daily menu alerts from the Brookhaven location because I’m hooked and plan to go back regularly.
The Brookhaven location is open for lunch Monday through Saturday from 11-4 and offers a daily changing menu of homemade soups, salads and sandwiches. They also have dinner entrees to go, fresh, organic juices and homemade gluten free cakes! I’m ready for a gluten free cake right now…
On another note, Patty and I wholeheartedly agree that we prefer the Buford Highway Farmer’s Market to the DeKalb Farmer’s Market! It’s closer, it isn’t freezing cold inside, it smells better, and they don’t mind if you take pictures….just sayin’……
