Recently, I have met a woman named Jenny from North Carolina. She and her husband John were in Atlanta for a NC/LSU game. That night after the game she went into premature labor and delivered Michael at 25 weeks.
Needless to say, What was supposed to be a one night trip has turned into a month in a motel. Her husband John is a School Principal in North Carolina, so he has had to return to work. Luckily, Jenny has her mom Mary staying here in Atlanta with her at the hotel. Michael is doing well for being born so early but he has his ups and downs. He will be staying in Piedmont hospital until he gains weight. So Jenny and Mary will be here in Atlanta for at least another month.
I was thinking if anyone in your AHA network has restaurant gift cards or event tickets it would give Jenny and her mom somewhere besides the hotel to eat and visit. Also, anyone who has had a premmie that wants to share their storys with her, please drop a letter in my mailbox for her. I think these things would help them a lot.
