Explosion/Fire in Dunwoody Leaves Many of our Neighbors in Need – Here’s How you can help!
By Audra H Anders for The Aha! Connection
Dunwoody Village Apartments are located across from the Chevron Station/Dunkin’ Donuts at the Intersection of N Peachtree and I 285 East. Many of the children who live there attend Chesnut Elementary, PCMS and Dunwoody High. They are our neighbors and I know our community rallies around neighbors in need.
So here’s what I know from the news about what happened:
What: Gift Cards in any amount: Target, Walmart, Visa, Kroger
The gift cards will be distributed with the cooperation of the apartment management. We will reach back out when/if the displaced residents need donations for their new homes. If you are unable to purchase and bring in a gift card, cash donations can be made via Venmo to @Laurence-Harris-1 and gift cards for the families will be purchased from those funds and given to the families. They will not be collecting items for the residents. Due to the ranges of ages and needs, we understand that the most impactful help these residents can receive is in the form of gift cards.
If you can’t make it to Malachi’s, Billy Kramer has offered up NFA Burger as a drop off location. It is open 11 AM to 3 PM today and Wednesday and then on Saturday 11-3 and 5:30-7:30.
Also, Adam Freedman has offered that SOHO Office will be collecting gift cards today (Tuesday) between 9am-3:30PM and then will take them over to Malachi’s. They are located at 2090 Dunwoody Club Drive, Suite 106, next to Lauderhill’s Jewelry and Kroger, around the corner from Los Rancheros.
