Join us on Sunday, Sept. 29 for our “Growing Mental Wellness” event, part of our One Lamb Initiative at Saint Luke’s! This event will offer mental wellness presentations for all life stages delivered by incredible people and organizations, such as Art it Out, Emory Healthcare and Boston Red Sox pitcher, John Trautwein. The event will begin at 5:30 pm with a shared meal from Il Giallo, sponsored by Emory Healthcare at Saint Joseph’s, in the Great Hall, then at 6:15 pm we will break up into age/life stage groups for separate programs which will begin at 6:30 pm and end by 7:30 pm. Please RSVP here.

Children ages 3 and 4 – “OK to Feel” story and play time with books and activities about feelings and emotions, led by experienced teachers

Children in PreK through 5th Grade – Experience art therapy with an “Art It Out” class https://www.artitout.com. Children will discover how creating something beautiful can also help them feel better emotionally. Spaces are limited.

Parents of Children – Hear from an “Art it Out!” therapist about how families can practice art therapy at home and learn more about how to better understand and help in the development of social-emotional skills in your child.

Middle and High School Youth and their Parents – Hear from former Boston Red Sox pitcher, John Trautwein about “Delivering Hope Through Peer Power”. John https://will-to-live.org speaks to groups and teams (high school, pro, and college) across the country to raise awareness about teen suicide and how “talking about it” with those we trust can build lasting strength, trust, and love. While the death of John’s son is discussed,  the overwhelming message is about making a positive force for change.

Adults– Dr. Dhaval Desai (Emory Hospital doctor and author of “Burning Out on the Covid Front Lines”, featured in Time magazine) and his wife, Dr. Agita Tailor (pain management doctor with a passion for mental health) will share their personal experiences with mental health challenges from the perspective of medical professionals.
