At a recent fundraiser at Dunwoody Tavern, manager Patrick Swanson was presented with a plaque honoring Dunwoody Restaurant Group’s support of the DHS boys lacrosse team.
The four year old Dunwoody High School boys lacrosse program took two big wins last week, including its first ever shutout (against Druid Hills). The young program boasts 40 players: Seniors Jack Martin, Kirven Davis, Joseph Keen, Korey Lowrey, Daniel Pile and Roland Williams, 5 juniors, 5 sophomores and 24 freshmen. The team is managed by new coach, Michael Sopko, who joined the Dunwoody High School faculty in the fall of 2014.
A recently established Junior Wildcats program at Peachtree Middle School has another 25 players that will form a pipeline of new talent into the High School team. The Junior Wildcats are coached by Neil Ringers, Jim Fox and Kevin Moran.
Through its booster organization, the DHS Stix Club, Dunwoody Lacrosse has also received sponsorship support from a number of other area businesses, in particular Dr. Susan Rifkin and Associates and the law office of Pankey & Horlock, LLC. who, along with the Dunwoody Restaurant Group, make up the three presenting sponsors.
