Put on your running shoes and join us before the parade for a casual run right here in Dunwoody on Monday, July 4th at 7am. We will start and end the run at Dunwoody Park (next to Dunwoody Nature Center) on Roberts Road.
After weeks of silence, some of our finest local runners have stepped out to keep the tradition alive. What does this all mean? A challenging run with neighbors and friends, bragging rights and the opportunity to take home the coveted trophies (aka, leis and Uncle Sam hats). No t-shirts, no police escort, no closed roads. Just a group of friends and neighbors who want a solid, no-frills run before hitting all the 4th of July festivities later in the day. If we’re lucky, we may even get our friends at the Dunwoody Crier to cover it again this year with another great photo to show your grandchildren one day.
PLEASE help us spread the word by forwarding to friends, tennis teams, random people you happen to have on your email list, whoever. Kids, walkers, pets, strollers welcome. This is a NOT an official event (i.e. no registration fee but no ambulances on standby) so please use your best judgment and help us make this a SAFE, fun event for all.
Please contact me if you plan to run so we can provide enough water and finish line snacks! We would also love help from any families to staff the water stop and cheer on our runners at the finish line.
Best regards,
