In its very first year, the Dunwoody High Speech team has won two state championships at the 2016 GFCA Speech and Debate State Championship. Chloe Kahn is the Dramatic Interpretation state champion and Zack Humphries is the Humorous Interpretation state champion. Both students were also awarded the 2016 GFCA Novice of the Year for each of these events. Chloe and Zack also took 4th place in Duo Interpretation and both won Novice of the Year for Duo Interpretation.
Other successes include Caroline White who received the 3rd place trophy in Dramatic Interpretation and John Spalding, 6th place, also in Dramatic Interpretation
