Dunwoody native Olivia Plumb has a message for young women who dream of tackling the grueling Appalachian Trail alone: go for it.
“The biggest obstacle you have to overcome is yourself and your own doubts,” she said. “There is always an excuse not to do it, but if you really want it, you have to commit and prioritize it.”
After graduating from Dunwoody High School in 2016, Plumb said she knew she wanted to take a year off before starting college and she had a goal in mind – hike the well-known 2,200 trail between Springer Mountain, Georgia and Mount Katahdin, Maine. Continue reading
