Dunwoody Speech Wins Two State Championships
Last weekend, the Dunwoody Speech Team brought home two state championships at the GFCA State Championships in speech and debate competition.
Tay Charles is the state champion in Dramatic Interpretation and Brandon Jasper is the state champion in Humorous Interpretation. Other trophies were collected by Anna Jean Lower, second place in Dramatic Interpretation, followed by Chloe Strader in third place and Cole Carter in third place for Humorous Interpretation. Alana Magley finished in fourth place.

DHS eSports just started their regular season with a perfect record!
League of Legends handed Lee County HS their first loss 2-0.
Valorant team flawlessly squashed Champlain Valley Union HS from Vermont 13-0.
And lastly, Overwatch 2 team never gave up a single point and defeated Westwood Regional HS from New Jersey 3-0.

Jack Pankey Named All State Football Player
We would like to send a HUGE congratulations to Jack Pankey. Jack is receiving recognition as an All State Football Player for this year. This is one of the highest honors an athlete can earn. Congratulations Jack!
JV Girls Lacrosse
JV Lax Cats went on the road last week and got their first win against Newnan. Sadie Shulman scored 5 goals! Jollette Alonso, our new goalie, had 6 saves. Final score 15-3. See us this week at our home game on Wednesday!
Boys Varsity Lacrosse Win
The Boys Lacrosse team opened their season last Wednesday night with a 17-5 win over Norcross. It was a big team win with 10 different players scoring goals. Will Levy also had a solid night in goal. The team will be on the road at Archer on Monday. Go Cats!
Boys Varsity Tennis Win
Congratulations to the varsity boys tennis team on their 4-1 win over Chamblee High School! Lines were won by Bobby Kitchin, Will Steedman, Jack Tolk, Avery Watts, Ryan Halligan, and Alex Wallace. Great job tennis-cats!
Wildcat Fencing Team
The DHS Wildcat fencing team represented us well at Riverwood High School recently. This was our 6th tournament of the season. Congratulations to all who competed! Special shout-outs go to our top fencers for Saturday – Taylor Fenmore, Reece Gallagher, Sparrow Oki-Pomeroy and Jackie Rosenfeld. Next up – individual competitions on March 4th!
Swim and Dive
Congrats to all of our Wildcat swimmers and divers who competed at State last week! Our boys placed 6th overall and our girls placed 17th! We had a few top 3 places and new school records!
Notable results included Divers Eden Dwoskin, 9th place; Dana Elder, 16th place; Alex Guven, 17th place.
Swimmers Luke Sandberg placed 1st in the 200 freestyle and earned a new school record with a time of 1:40.6 and placed 4th in the 100 freestyle; Luke Amerson placed 1st in the 200 IM while earning a new school record of 1:53.84 and placed 2nd in the 100 backstroke; Reese Benton placed 3rd in the 500 freestyle and 4th in the 100 breaststroke.

Wrestling
Congratulations to Charlie Mixson, Adam Gromatzky, and Charlie Ruark for winning the Region Championship. The Wildcats qualified 10 wrestlers for the Section at Lanier.
Varsity Boys Soccer
The Varsity Boys Soccer defeated Brookwood 3-1 last Friday, February 3. Chris Loja, Shama Shasha, and Will Lamb each scored goals. Chris Loja was selected as the Player of the Game. The win capped an undefeated week for the entire Boys Soccer program.
Dunwoody Baseball
On 2/9, the Dunwoody varsity baseball team lost their away non-conference game against Kell (Marietta, GA) by a score of 5-3. On 2/7, the Dunwoody varsity baseball team lost their home non-conference game against Kell (Marietta, GA) by a score of 9-0. On 2/3, the Dunwoody varsity baseball team lost their home non-conference game against North Springs (Atlanta, GA) by a score of 2-0.
