The Dunwoody Gridiron Club is hosting its Fourth Annual Wildcat Classic Golf Tournament benefiting the Dunwoody High School football team on Tuesday May 21st. The tournament will once again be held at Rivermont Golf and Country Club where it has been each year since its inception in 2016.
“The football team is mostly self-funded and this is our biggest fundraiser of the year,” said Mike Nash, Dunwoody’s head football coach. “We use the money to pay for things like new equipment for our growing team and maintaining our practice field.”
Registration begins at 8:30 am with a shotgun start at 10:00. Breakfast, lunch, snacks, beverages, prizes and a raffle will all be a part of the festivities. “We have great swag bags with T-shirts and a number of other goodies that go to each participant,” said Gridiron Club board member and this year’s Chairman of the tournament, J. Snypp.
Nash also added “This is my favorite fund raiser because it has become a community event. People from all over Dunwoody are able to come together for a day to play golf and have a good time being together. It’s not about the golf. We have all skill levels. It’s about everyone coming together for a cause and being a part of something much bigger than themselves. That is needed in today’s society. Unselfishness is something we teach every day and the golf outing is a great example of that for our kids.”
As the Dunwoody community comes out to watch and support the Wildcats play, this is an open community-wide event, not just for football families. Anyone interested in registering to play, being a sponsor or donating should go to https://birdeasepro.com/WildcatClassic
