Dunwoody boy in need of life-saving transplant

TylerJohnsonDEKALB COUNTY, Ga. —

A Dunwoody boy diagnosed with sickle cell anemia is in need of a life-saving transplant.

Doctors at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta at Egleston have recommended a bone-marrow transplant for 10-year-old Tyler Johnson.

The Children’s Organ Transplant Association is a national charity dedicated to organizing and

guiding communities in raising funds for transplant-related expenses.  In Dunwoody, volunteers are raising funds for COTA in honor of transplant patients like Johnson.

They estimate transplant-related expenses for Johnson will reach $90,000.

So far, they have raised $3,320 for his transplant.

Donations may be mailed to the Children’s Organ Transplant Association, 2501 West COTA Drive, Bloomington, Indiana, 47403.  Checks or money orders should be made payable to COTA, with “In Honor of Tyler J.” written on the memo line of the check.  Secure credit card donations are also accepted online at www.COTAforTylerJ.com.
