Dunwoody High School’s fencing team had much to celebrate after competing at Walton High School on Saturday, September 15th. Team Captain Megan Murphy led the team with a gold medal for women’s fencing at the first tournament of the 2018-19 Georgia High School Fencing League (GHSFL) season.
Fellow junior and Assistant Captain Sara Gelber and freshman Sam James both captured bronze medals. Additional team points were earned by: Robbie Garber, Hannah Soderberg, Valentina Thelen, and Lily Ragals; which elevated the DHS women’s team into 2nd place and improved the men’s team ranking in the overall league. Out of 20 DHS fencers, 16 advanced into the Direct Elimination rounds, the Table of 16, and beyond.
