With the arrival of Black Friday and Cyber Monday, many people have begun their holiday shopping! For those of you that have travel lovers in your family, your child will be embarking on a study abroad program or you will soon be an empty nester with big travel plans of your own…think travel gifts!
Owning the right suitcase, travel bag or cross body purse can ease your future travels. Below are some of my favorites (make sure to click on the hyperlinks).
- A hard case carry-on suitcase.Hard case suitcases can pack much more than a soft case, are more durable and have 4 wheels making them much easier to maneuver. You can find a hard case carry-on at Costco, as well as online at ebags.com or Amazon. An interesting option that made my Christmas list this year is the carry-on closet suitcase by Solgaard. I love that it offers a USB charging port! It has won several awards this year (Time Magazine named it the best travel invention of the year) and to make you feel even better about your purchase they use recyclable plastic for the interior lining (each case cleans up 6 pounds of ocean-bound plastic from coastal communities). Another popular hard case brand is Away. Solgaard and Away are pricier options, but both are offering Cyber Monday deals.
- I love travel bags! A great travel bag slides on top of your hard case carry-on and can carry things like your laptop, make-up and items you may need during your flight. I even throw an empty cross body purse in my travel bag to pull out later. BEIS offers a mini-weekender bag (also a larger weekender bag). There’s also a smaller tote size travel bag. - A cross body purse for travel is a must!I have been through many styles over the years, but my ultimate favorite find was purchased this year! Lululemon offers the 5L All Night Festival Bag (the better size for travel is the 5L, but there’s also a 2L size). This purse offers the perfect size, material, pockets and style! You will thank me later!
- Another great gift idea is a collapsible bag that zips up to nothing, taking up very little space in your suitcase. If you are like me and always come home with more, this bag solves that issue. It will unzip to a duffle size bag allowing you to bring home all those goodies and gifts you found during your travels. My college age kids have also used these for weekend trips.
- Packing cubes are another accessory that makes packing easier and more organized.These can be purchased on Amazon or ebags. (ebags is offering up to 60% off today).
