Custodian/Housekeeper Needed at Dunwoody UMC

Position Summary:
Responsible for the proper and timely completion of all cleaning tasks in an assigned building or group of buildings.
Perform cleaning work in accordance with established cleaning procedures.

Specific Responsibilities:
1. Perform cleaning tasks in assigned area in accordance with established procedures.
2. Handle cleaning tasks including, but not limited to, disinfecting and cleaning restroom fixtures, dusting furniture, window sills
and ledges; spot cleaning walls, doors and glass; collecting and removing trash from the building; vacuuming carpeted area;
dust mopping, wet mopping and sweeping/mopping stairs; re-supplying paper and soap dispensers; polishing furniture; and
other cleaning related tasks.
3. Use and maintain non-powered cleaning equipment such as mops, brooms, duster, sponges, cleaning clothes, sprays and bottles.
4. Report to immediate supervisor any items requiring maintenance and any unusual or unsafe conditions.

Knowledge and Skills:
1. Skilled in the use and care of powered and non-powered cleaning equipment.
2. Working knowledge of standard cleaning practices and procedures.
3. Knowledge of proper use of a variety of cleaning chemicals such as floor finishers, disinfectants, neutral detergents, abrasive
cleaners, window cleaner, furniture polish, acid base de-sealers, floor finish strippers, carpet shampoos, metal polish, and
carpet spot cleaners.
4. Manual dexterity is required.
5. Must be able to walk extensively, climb stairs and work in a stooped position over a long period of time.
6. Ability to follow oral and written instructions.

Education/Experience:
A high school diploma or equivalent is desired and at least one (1) year experience in performing janitorial services and/or ground
maintenance.
