DUNWOODY, Ga — A unique type of crosswalk is helping pedestrians scramble between two new parks in the city of Dunwoody.
The “pedestrian scramble” stops traffic in all directions so travelers can move diagonally through the intersection of North Shallowford Road and Dunwoody Park.
Other pedestrian signals stop traffic in only one direction, allowing you to walk with the flow of traffic.
The crosswalk is one of only two like it in all of metro Atlanta.
11Alive Commuter Dude Jerry Carnes spent an afternoon testing the “pedestrian scramble.”
At this time, the city of Dunwoody has no plans to add the diagonal crosswalk to other area intersections.
