Community Orchestra Fundraiser to Help Local Businesses

Submitted by:  Carla Bosman

As a Dunwoody resident who is a member of the Atlanta Community Symphony Orchestra, I would like to share some wonderful advertising opportunities for the growing number of Dunwoody businesses. The ACSO was founded by the Atlanta Music Club in 1958 and continually has given back to our communities in many ways.

Yearly, the ACSO holds competitions for young artists through the Ruth Kern Young Artist’s Concerto Competition and Atlanta Music Club. Winners are given the opportunity to perform as solo artists with the ACSO. (I am currently trying to see if we can use the new performance hall at DHS for this year’s competition. What a great opportunity for Dunwoody’s young & talented music students!) ACSO orchestra members also donate their time to local groups such as the Perimeter Adult Learning Program (PALS) in Dunwoody.

As with most orchestras, running an orchestra has its costs. There are several initiatives planned to help raise funds for the ongoing operation of the orchestra. We need your help to ensure the ACSO keeps playing!

The main fundraisers for this year are:

1. Advertising through the Play Bill

Business owners may place an advertisement in the Play Bill. Costs range from $250 to $750 for the opportunity to connect with over 3000 potential clients.

2. Silent Auction held Dec. 4th

The ACSO Silent Auction is to be held at our December concert. To make this auction successful we need items to auction. Businesses may also donate items.

3. Donations

For more details on donations and how to sponsor the Atlanta Community Symphony Orchestra, please feel free to email or give me a call.

Thank you so much for your consideration and help. Feel free to pass this along to a friend, co-worker, or business, too.
