The City of Brookhaven, Ga., plans to use eminent domain to acquire a 19-acre tract of land sought for a linear park along the North Fork of Peachtree Creek.
According to the City of Brookhaven, no progress has been made in negotiations to purchase the 19-acre tract just off of Briarwood Road behind Northeast Plaza, The Brookhaven Post reported. The city said it has been trying to settle with the owner on a fair price for the land. It would be used as a trail head for the Peachtree Creek Greenway, a 2.98-mile multi-purpose park along Peachtree Creek. Continue reading at the Atlanta Business Chronicle.
