Chick-fil-A unveils a cole slaw replacement, with help from Ford Fry

Chick-fil-A Inc. has jumped aboard the kale bandwagon.

The Atlanta-based fast-food chain teamed with Atlanta chef Ford Fry of Ford Fry Restaurants to come up with a new salad that includes kale and broccolini. The new salad hits stores Jan. 18 just as the chain phases out cole slaw.

“The ‘Superfood Side’ is made with a blend of hand-chopped kale and broccolini, tossed in a sweet and tangy maple vinaigrette dressing and topped with flavorful dried sour cherries,” Chick-fil-A said in a statement. “It is served with a blend of roasted nuts (walnuts, almonds and pecans) that enhances the flavor and provides added crunch.”
