Congratulations to the Chamblee Middle School Academic Bowl team (which includes many Dunwoody residents) for beating out over 150 teams to win the 2016 PAGE Academic Bowl State Championship! DeKalb County’s Chamblee Middle School, coached by John Donegan, Cathy Hirsch and Margaret Mitchell, is the 2016 PAGE Academic Bowl for Middle Grades State Champion. Team members included Ashley Veazey, Sam Grant, Carson Ankeny, Logan Durisch, Ethan Shi, Co-captain Nevin Aresh, Shanru Xu, Co-captain Foster Cowan and Gunter Schroeder. The team won the title at the PAGE (Professional Association of Georgia Educators) Academic Bowl for Middle Grades State Championship, held on Saturday, January 30, 2016, at the Georgia College & State University (GC&SU) Arts and Sciences Auditorium in Milledgeville, Georgia. More than 1,500 students compete at the local, regional and state levels.
