Friday night the Dunwoody Wildcats and Chamblee Bulldogs will be battling on the field in the “Golden Spike” football game, but the Student Governments of both schools are on the sidelines working together on a special project. September is “CURE Childhood Cancer” month and “Cats and Dogs Unite to Fight Childhood Cancer” is the theme both schools have chosen to use for a “Gold Out” on Friday. Both Dunwoody and Chamblee are selling the same gold shirts for $10 with a Dunwoody logo on the front of ours and a Chamblee logo on the front of theirs but the back of the shirt has the same design for both schools. During halftime of the football game the two schools will present the results of their combined fund raising efforts to a representative of Chip’s Nation Pediatric Cancer Foundation.
We are excited to be working with the Chamblee students to raise awareness and funds for this very worthy cause. T-shirts will be sold beginning Tuesday during all lunches at DHS and also before school on Thursday and Friday. Parents are certainly encouraged to “go Gold” and purchase the $10 shirts as well. The DHS pep rally on Friday will also be a “Gold Out”.
