Book of the Week: Eleanor & Park

I just finished this book on Monday.  I read it in less than 24 hours.  It is a fun, fast read that reminds you what it is like to be a high school teenager.  There’s  family drama and teen romance.  I love the way it is told back and forth from Park then Eleanor’s points of view. Read More »

Does anyone want to build Audra a Little Free Library?

I want one of these!  Love this idea and am so glad my little brother told me about it! Maybe somebody needs an idea for an Eagle Scout project?!

It’s a “take a book, return a book” gathering place where neighbors share their favorite literature and stories. In its most basic form, a Little Free Library is a box full of books where anyone may stop by and pick up a book (or two) and bring back another book to share. … Read More »

Book Review – Divergent by Veronica Roth

Someone told me this weekend that The Divergent Trilogy is going to be “the next big Hunger Games!” I’ve noticed it on the shelves of Barnes & Noble and was curious but since I’m a huge Hunger Games fan I couldn’t resist the temptation to start book one (Divergent) ASAP. The motion picture will be released in March of 2014 and I always recommend reading a book before seeing the movie.… Read More »

Audra’s Review: The Book Thief – a must see movie!

I am so thankful my friend Nicole took her mother-in-law’s recommendation and chose The Book Thief by Marcus Zusak for our neighborhood book club selection circa 2005.  It instantly became one of my top 10 favorites of all time.  (Which says a lot because I’m quite the bookworm!) I jumped at the chance to see a preview of the movie last night and invited Nicole and all of my neighborhood book aficionados! … Read More »
