Wanna paint the Little Free Library in Brook Run Park?

Source: Heneghan’s Dunwoody Blog

This little library could now use a little paint to protect the bare wood. I know that we have creative artists in the community so if you have the talent & time to donate, I will pay for the supplies from my city expense account (if allowed). If interested, please email me with your thoughts, I will clear with city staff and if necessary convene a panel to possibly judge the entries.… Read More »

Book of the Week: A Week at the Lake by Wendy Wax

Book of the Week
A Week at the Lake by Wendy Wax

Wendy Wax books are always an excellent choice for the beach so when she gave me an advance copy of her upcoming book just before I headed to the gulf, I was thrilled!    I don’t want to give away too much of the story but I want to point out that near the beginning of the book these friends are all in the hospital rooting for someone to recover from a brain injury. … Read More »

Book of the Week: Ladies Night by Mary Kay Andrews

Book of the Week
Ladies Night   by Mary Kay Andrews

Ladies Night by Mary Kay Andrews was our Meadowlake Book Club May choice.  In fact, we were discussing this book at Libby’s house when the now famous Dunwoody walker/talker, Stephanie Kayhan first mentioned her conversation with Tiffany the Traffic Stopper.

How appropriate that my “lady friends” from Meadowlake were discussing “Ladies Night” the book and began discussing the “traffic ladies“?  … Read More »

Book of the Week: The Nightingale by Kristin Hannah

The Nightingale by Kristin Hannah

This is very simply the best book I have read in at least a year.  After reading 11 books so far in 2015, this one is sitting all by itself waaaay up on top of my faves for 2015.   If you don’t understand what people mean when they describe books as “beautifully written”, then read this book for an example. … Read More »

Book of the Week: Girl on the Train by Paula Hawkins

Book of the Week
Girl on the Train by Paula Hawkins   This book is what I’d refer to as an addictive page turner!   I thoroughly enjoyed it.   Many are comparing it to Gone Girl and I definitely see the similarities.  Being inside Rachel’s mind is heart breaking but I found myself desperately flipping the pages to figure out what the heck was going on!  Here’s a good description from Amazon:

“The “girl on the train” is Rachel, who commutes into London and back each day, rolling past the backyard of a happy-looking couple she names Jess and Jason.Read More »
