Recently Peggy and I had coffee at Crema with Dawn Young Proctor & Jennifer Barnes from The Barnes Young Team. We really enjoyed getting to know this delightful duo!
More on this later but I want to go ahead and tell you, Jennifer co-founded Solidarity Sandy Springs during the pandemic and Peggy and I were amazed to hear the stories of the tremendous growth since the inception of the idea to feed a mere 10 hungry families in March of 2020. … Read More »
When I was a Gayfer Girl at Auburn Mall in high school, someone must have shown me how to apply makeup. Surely they did…however, my Dad always said I wore too much though, so maybe not? Anyway, now that I’m older and have wrinkles and freckles I have decided it is time to figure out how someone my age can improve their appearance with cosmetics. … Read More »
I’m having so much fun getting out and about meeting clients so far this year. Meeting Nicole McAluney in her beautiful downtown Alpharetta office was so much fun. I’m wondering how or why I don’t know her already? I learned immediately that she was friends with Foodie Patty through Brownies, she has a daughter my youngest sons age (now at TCU), another daughter currently at Marist and a son at Clemson PLUS she lives across the street from very good friends of our family!… Read More »
My hubby and I sent two sons off to college. My oldest was in 10th grade when I started freaking out because I didn’t understand ANYTHING about the college application process, what we could afford, where was the best fit, scheduling college tours, etc. Honestly, when I started talking to people about what to do, I felt like I was learning a whole new foreign language with words such as: FAFSA, SAT Subject Tests, Early Admission, Gap Year, Technical School, Early Decision, Early Action, Early Decision, Common App, Safety School, Binding Decisions, Hope/Zell GPA vs regular GPA, UGMA, UTMA, EFC, etc. … Read More »

Most people know I love piddling around in my yard. I’m not an expert on anything except maybe growing zinnias from seed, but I love being outside. So, when Mario Cambardella contacted me about advertising, I was intrigued to find out more about his business, ServeScape. I researched and learned all about ServeScape to prepare for our conversation. … Read More »
My husband and I bought our home from the original owners in 2002. The Orgerons loved Halloween. Interestingly enough, they kept a tally of the number of trick-or-treaters that came to the front door each Halloween since 1984. We kept up the tradition of counting as accurately as we can with the help of all our Halloween guests each year!… Read More »
Coach Bass and I go way back to around 2004. I can’t remember whether I first met him at the Murphey Candler Tom Bass Camp or at Indoor Winter Baseball at DHS when my oldest was six years old. So, the first thing I asked Tom when we sat down to chat for this interview was….”What… Read More »
My hubby and I were out running errands this weekend and rode by the AC Hotel. A light-bulb went off in my head as I remembered the new Bar Peri Rooftop Bar was on the 7th floor. So, we pulled in, parked and went upstairs for the view, a quick bite and a few beverages. … Read More »
I have food allergies and it stinks. I aged into these allergies so thankfully never had to pilfer through baskets on Halloween for gluten free candy as a child. However, I can certainly sympathize with kiddos who have food allergies. Therefore, at my house we offer non-edible treats PLUS the regular amazing candy treats! … Read More »
